    TRTHomeSweetHome-CandisTerry

Quickie review: I’m a sucker for anything that involves animals, especially dogs!  This was my first book by Candis Terry and I really enjoyed it. This novella is a prequel to the Sweet, Texas series and definitely piqued my interest regarding this series.

Paige and Aiden have a life long connection that Aiden feels he must sever due to how he feels after returning from a deployment in Afghanistan.  He really doesn’t feel worthy of Paige and her feelings for him.  Not only did he lose his friends, he is separated from his canine buddy, Rennie.  Paige, to her credit, pushes through Aiden’s attempts to cut himself off from her by…loving him.

Enter Paige and the close-knit town Sweet, Texas and their love and care for him. They band together in order to reunite Aiden with Rennie.  I loved the small town feel and the quirky characters of Sweet, Texas, especially Arlene and Gladys, they were a nice bit of comic relief in a book that tackles a pretty heavy subject.  Home Sweet Home shows just how incredible “home” can be.

A note from Candis about why she’s donating book sales to charity.

“The inspiration for HOME SWEET HOME came from an article I’d read about a soldier who been forced to leave the pup he’d rescued in Afghanistan because it wasn’t allowed to bring the animal back to the U.S. In writing the story I realized that rescue animals are a huge part of the romances I write. Since I’m prone to rescue four-legged friends in my personal life I thought that maybe I could help in a bigger way. When I started looking into rescue centers I was overwhelmed by not only the number of animals in need but the generosity of the volunteers who often nurse these animals back to health so they can be adopted. The love and loyalty of an animal is unconditional and I’d like to see them have the opportunity to be loved right back. I know I can’t help them all, but I hope these donations will help as many as possible.”

“When did you get home? Why didn’t your brother tell me? How long will you be home? Do you want something to eat? Of course you do. Dumb question. Scratch that.”

Aiden couldn’t help but smile as Paige fired off a volley of questions, then finished them off with a random thought.

    Just like old times.

    She’d always been that girl.

The one who had a million things going on all at once and tried to keep them all in order inside her head. At times, she came off a bit scrambled even though, for the most part, she had it more together than anyone he’d ever met. Aiden knew she saw every day as a gift. She saw life as something priceless that should be hit at full speed and explored twenty-four hours a day.

When they’d been together, he’d managed to keep her in bed for several of those hours a day just to show her that a lot could be accomplished in a prone position too. But even then, between making love, she’d come up with a list of half a dozen things she wanted to do that day, next week, or a year down the road. They’d done a hell of a lot of exploring in those days, and even if he hadn’t been able to keep up with her eagerness on the calendar, he managed to keep her enthusiasm busy in other ways.

“A few days ago,” he said, answering her first question, then followed up with the rest. “Ben didn’t tell you because he didn’t know. And yes, I’d love a Diablo burger, a double order of sweet-potato fries, and a marshmallow Snickers milk shake.”

It didn’t take a rocket scientist to know immediately that she was hurt because he’d taken so long to come see her. By rights, she should have been first on his list. And she would have been, but he had obligations to visit Bobby’s and Billy’s folks. And after those visits, he had barely been able to look at himself in the mirror.

The wounded look in her eye disappeared, and her smile reappeared. Apparently, she realized too why he hadn’t come to see her first.

“Awww. Your favorite foods.” She shifted her weight from one sexy hip to the other. “I’ll bet you’ve been craving those for a long time.”

He’d been craving her too, but that kind of thinking had to stop.

“Pretty much since I boarded the plane for Afghanistan and left American soil.” Funny how the moment you knew you couldn’t have something, you wanted it even more.

“Well, the wait is over. You sit right there, and I’ll have Bud put your order on a rail.” Her tennis shoes squeaked as she turned and rushed off into the kitchen.

With all day in front of him and nothing to do, Aiden could watch her through the order window, excitedly gesturing with her hands while she spoke with Bud. Still, he couldn’t help wonder out loud … “A rail?”

The old man with the bald head next to him nodded and grinned. “She’s puttin’ the hurry up on it for you.”

    “Oh.”

Guilt wrapped around Aiden’s throat and gave a hard squeeze. The faster Paige moved, the sooner he’d have to deliver the news. She looked so damned happy to see him, he hated to burst her bubble. Hated to hurt her in any way. But it had to be done. No matter how badly he might think he wanted it to be otherwise.

“For a man who’s got a pretty woman like that scurrying around to make time to be with him, you sure got a grim look on your puss.”

The man sitting next to him, Chester Banks, was well into his eighties. He’d had more ex-wives than Disneyland had rides. Over the years, his nose had grown, and his eyes had sunk. He probably weighed all of a hundred pounds soaking wet, was bowlegged, and wore his Wranglers so starched, his arthritic knees could barely bend. But Chester had no qualms whatsoever about chasing the ladies who were at least six decades younger.

“Probably matches what’s inside my head,” Aiden verified.

“Oh?” A scraggly gray brow lifted, and a smile broke across Chester’s wrinkled lips. “So you’re saying the lovely Paige is up for grabs?”

“You’re mine, Emma.  But really, pretty mama, I’m all yours.”

Emma, Gray and sweet Cally finally get their happily ever after in Only Forever.  I really appreciated the way Ms. Harber brought this series to an end. I was a bit concerned as to how some issues would get resolved but…ahem Emma’s night job.  But it all came to light in a very organic way.  You’ll see what I mean. 😉

This isn’t going to be a long meandering review.  Simply put, I enjoyed this new format that Ms. Harber jumped into even though..it was NA.  Tying in the Titan world is a sure way to entice me and I hope  we will get an update on Grayson and Emma in other Titan/Delta books.

When I finished this one, I felt all warm and gooey inside as Emma and Grayson came full circle to each other. The ending was so sweet and I truly enjoyed Only Forever.

“I’ve done nothing for you to give me that trust, but I need you to anyway.”

I’m not pressed against his chest anymore. The warmth that encapsulated me moments ago is gone, but I feel different. Life’s shifted—I’ve been hanging on this roller coaster for years, and now it’s as if we’re cautiously slipping toward smooth sailing. The lump in my throat eases, and my eyelids lift, my gaze falling on the most handsome man I’ve ever seen.

“What do you say?” He inches closer.

“I love you, Grayson.” Deep breath. “When it comes to us, I’m all in.”

  • Mandy reviews: Can’t Resist A Cowboy by Elizabeth Otto

Ok.  I’m experiencing technical difficulties so, I’m writing this review from my written notes.  Normally, I go through my highlights on my digital copy and relive reading the book.  Well for some reason, I can’t access it to enjoy the rereading.  I really wanted to get this review out there, so here I am.

In a nutshell… I LOVED it.  Let me say though, that I am a huge fan of this author and this series and I have been anxiously awaiting Levi’s book.  The wait was almost too much for me and I needed my Paint River fix.

It was totally worth the wait!!! Carrie and Levi have an incredible connection with each other that dates back to their childhood.  Levi, broke Carrie’s heart when he left Paint River, but he had good reasons and frankly, Carrie needed to get out of Paint River for her health.  When Carrie comes back to visit her father and their farm, the connection between she and Levi is still very much alive and cracklin’.  (This would be where I’d insert a super sexy excerpt or quote, so use your imagination) Let me just say that the scene when Carrie first comes back to town and goes to a local bar is hilarious.  Ms. Otto’s humor is one of the reasons why I love her books.  She combines the sexy and the funny so very well.  I love the Heywood brothers when they get together and there is a drinking scene that is hilarious.  It is not to be missed.

Levi really is the perfect match for Carrie.  He has known her almost all of her life and he understands her medical condition ( a diabetic condition) and what she needs.  She grew up with her father making decisions for her and she values her independence despite the difficulties that her diabetes creates for her and her future.

Levi has his own physical challenges after being injured while deployed and he has adapted himself and his physical activity in response to the injuries to his leg.  The man has a very physical job, riding horses and working the farm and his legs get sore. Luckily, Carrie has some massage experience and is able to offer him some relief…lucky guy.

Carrie and Levi both have personal issues and they both have the ability to help each other, it’s a matter of accepting the help. Not to mention how much these two love each other. Holy moly.  (Insert another sweet/sexy quote here)  Anyhoo, I really enjoyed this book and I’d love to read more from this series.  My fingers are crossed for another Paint River book!

  • Elements of Chemistry Review- Heat by Penny Reid

    HeatTour

I’m going to admit that there was a fair amount of whimpering when I read the last page of this book.  Yes, it ends in a cliffhanger and once again, I’m okay with that.

In Heat, we really get some HEAT.  Holy moly, Martin and Kaitlyn really light up the pages with their chemistry and sexytimes!!! But do not assume that all this one is about is the physical aspect of their relationship.  One could assume that Martin is nothing but a smart rich guy but Heat fills in the holes where his background is concerned.  His family is nothing to brag about and are nothing if not extremely callous and horrible people.  Martin does everything he can to keep his life separate from his messed up family.

Kaitlyn experiences a new part of herself during the week she spends with Martin.  She certainly discovers herself sexually, I mean, who wouldn’t with a guy like Martin?  Good googly moogly.  I think a woman could lose her virginity just standing in the same room with him, much less removing clothing.  I digress.  Kaitlyn begins to explore the possibility of doing more with her life than going into science.  Going into the sciences is what she feels like to expected of her, not necessarily what she really wants to do or is passionate about. During her week with Martin, she realizes that music is her true passion but how can she actually pursue her true passion without disappointing her family and their expectations.

I truly enjoyed the time that Kaitlyn and Martin spent together.  They have an easy going connection with each and their banter is hilarious and entertaining.  I loved book 2 in this series and I cannot wait to see how Ms. Reid winds up the “saga” of Kaitlyn and Martin.

    “What are you doing?”

I lifted my eyes at the sound of Martin’s voice, but not immediately. I finished the paragraph I was reading, then I looked up, holding my place in the book with my thumb.

He was dressed in swim trunks and he was wet, with beads of water dripping down his chest. As such, he looked super hot. However, only the right side of his body was visible as the door blocked the other side. His hand was still on the doorknob and he leaned a tad to one side, into the room.

My eyes wandered over his form and I allowed myself to appreciate the beauty of Martin Sandeke like I might admire the beauty of a cold, soulless statue. Physically, he was a magnificent male specimen: corded muscle, long limbs, and rigid angles. Even his temples were drool worthy, especially since I knew his head housed a giant—albeit mismanaged—brain. Truly, he was one of our finest. His ancestors should really give themselves a big pat on the back.

A little pool of water had gathered at his feet, which made me wonder how long he’d been standing in the doorway. My eyes traveled upward again and I noticed he wore an angry expression. He looked livid.

I started a little at the heated annoyance in his stare. Then I glanced around the laundry room, searching for the source of his anger. I found that I was still alone. Therefore, I surmised his fury must be directed at me.

But, just to be sure, I said, “Who? Me?”

“Yes. You,” he growled, then stepped into the room and closed the door behind him. “What are you doing in here?”

I raised the book and tipped my head toward it. “I’m reading.”

Martin exhaled loudly, another growl. “I can see that, Parker. But why the fuck are you in here reading?”

I frowned at his use of profanity, my shoulders bunching with tension. I realized I’d gotten used to it, how often he cussed; I’d accepted it as part of him. But that was before he’d left me standing at the entrance to a party I didn’t want to attend, and that was before I’d seen him kissing a random girl.

“It’s the first sequel to The Three Musketeers. I’ve been meaning to read it. I found it on the shelf in the library—or living room, or whatever room. There are too many rooms in this house, so I don’t know what half of them are called.”

Martin gritted his teeth, and I got the distinct impression he wanted to strangle me. “Parker. This is a party. And you’re in the laundry room? Reading?”

I paused a beat to make sure this wasn’t a trick question. When I could find nothing amiss with his interrogation, I nodded slowly. “Yes. This is a party. I am in the laundry room reading.”

“Why? What is wrong with you?”

My mouth opened and closed but no words arrived, because his questions continued to confuse me. Finally, I admitted, “Martin, I don’t know what you want me to say or why you appear to be upset. I found the book when I was in one of the several rooms with lots of books. I’ve been meaning to read it. So I picked it up and found a quiet place. Why are you so angry?”

He charged at me and I ineffectually scrambled backward on the washing machine. In less than two seconds he’d pulled the book from my hands, slapped it on the counter at my left, and braced his arms on either side of my legs, leaning forward.

I realized he’d made me lose my page in the book. I decided to ignore my urge to vocalize this complaint, because his eyes were beyond heated.

They were incensed blue flames. I braced myself, my gaze wide and watchful, and flinched when he lifted a hand. I relaxed a smidge when he used it to push my hair off my shoulder.

When he spoke, his voice was low, strained, like he was trying very hard to control his temper. “I brought you here as my date. That was our agreement.”

I nodded once. “Yes. I know.”

“And, instead of talking to people or having fun, you’re in here reading a book.”

I kept my voice even and calm, tried to sound soothing. “I am having fun. I’m reading a book.”

  • Review: The Mistake by Elle Kennedy

For some reason, The Deal (Book #1) just didn’t blow my skirt up like it did everyone else’s. Don’t get me wrong, I enjoyed it. I enjoyed Garrett and Hannah, but for some reason, not to the extent everyone else did.  I had to wonder if I read the same book as everyone else. I began to think that maybe I had a weird reading brain day when I read it. *shrugs*

Enter a lovely little surprise review copy of The Mistake. Now, let me be clear, I LOVE Elle Kennedy. So, I figured I needed to give John Logan a chance. I really liked him in The Deal and I wanted to learn more about him. Boy, am I glad I did! I really enjoyed Logan and Grace’s story. Logan really had to work for Grace’s time and affection and I enjoyed the courting process that John (Logan) endured.

Logan and Grace meet completely by mistake and thus begins the relationship (of sorts) between them.  Logan does not have much experience hanging out with girls on a friend level and he is also fighting his attraction to his best friend’s girl. (So he has a lot on his mind.) Logan and Grace are immediately attracted to each other and they give into it off and on as they spend time together. Logan finally screws up royally where Grace is concerned and he spends the whole summer thinking about it and how he can get back into her life.

I appreciated this part of the book for several reasons.  First, we get to see what his life is like away from school and hockey and he does not have an easy life.  If anything, school and hockey is his escape from what is waiting for him after graduation.  Heavy duty family responsibility awaits him.  Dealing with his father and the fact that he will not be able to play hockey professionally.  Grace spends some much needed time with her mother and she comes back from the summer with a better idea of who she is and what she wants.

Once they get back to school, Logan is determined to get Grace back and to her credit, Grace really makes Logan work for another chance with her and I LOVED the wooing he has to do to get another chance.  Grace was a great character and I think she is the reason why I enjoyed this book more than the first book.

His mouth captures mine in a blistering kiss.  Belonging.  It’s the only way to describe the exquisite rush of sensation that washes over me.  Hsi lips belong on mine.  Heat floods my core as his large hands cup my cheeks, thumbs stroking my jaw as he kisses me with a shocking contrast of tenderness and hunger.  His tongue slicks over mine, one sweet stroke, then another, before his eases his mouth away.

“You called me Johnny,” he says, his breath tickling my lips.

“Is that not allowed?” I tease.

His thumb softly grazes my bottom lip. “My friends call me John sometimes, but only my family calls me Johnny.” His gaze burns with intensity.

    “I liked it.”

The Mistake was hilarious, sweet and sexy as all get out. (HELLO, JOHN LOGAN!!)

  • Review: Sincerely, Carter by Whitney G

    SincerelyCarter4

So, I received this book Sunday night and I read over 60% of it that night.  I finally had to force myself to put the Kindle down, turn off the light and go to sleep.  It was like 12:30-1amish and I had to be somewhat mentally present on Monday.  I finished it Monday night needless to say.

The reason I couldn’t put it down was that I just had to know how Ms. Williams was going to take Ari and Carter from best friends to lovers without torching the friendship.  That’s the main fear in the friends to lovers trope, if they get involved, the friendship will suffer.

Ari and Carter find themselves single at the same time and having odd feelings for each other.  The “hey, she is really beautiful and I want to get her naked” kind of feelings.  The funny thing is, once they give in to the new feelings, they are both in denial over what happened.  They refuse to talk about it.  Many times, once that line is crossed, the tired trope of “well, it’s a one-time thing” gets dragged out.  Not so with Sincerely, Carter.  Ms. Williams lets her characters feel the natural pull towards each other and lets them act on that pull whenever they feel like it.

Interspersed through the present day happenings are letters that Ari and Carter have written to each other since they were kids.  I loved them, they really added a history and depth to their friendship and developing relationship. Be aware that Carter is not Andrew Hamilton.  While he is dominating and a bit rough in the bedroom, he is allll Carter.

Sincerely, Carter is the ultimate friends to lovers tale with lots of hot sexy times thrown in and I enjoyed Ms. William’s (Whitney G.) foray into the genre.

  • Review: Overruled by Emma Chase

Emma Chase has a new series! I feel like shouting it from the rooftops, like Maria singing in the Alps.

    sound-of-music-gif

First, she gave us Drew Evans, who I love with the fire of a thousand suns and now we have Stanton Shaw.  Lawyer and good ole southern man.  Lord have mercy.  He’s intelligent and so ridiculously charming and the drawl?  Um yes, please.

I’ll admit that this one sat on my Kindle for awhile merely because I didn’t want to read it and be done with it.  I always want to savor an Emma Chase novel.  If you’re a Drew Evans fan, you’ll be satisfied by a few cameo appearances of the man himself.  Drew and Stanton are college buddies and business associates (of sorts).

My mother told me once, “Honey, he’s just a man, he can’t help it.”  Stanton Shaw needs a t-shirt made with this saying because as much as I loved him, I wanted to punch him or shake him or something.  See, Stanton has a lovely high school girlfriend, Jenny who is also the mother of his child.  Stanton believes they are MFEO (made for each other) even though he continues to work and live in DC while his daughter and baby mama live in Mississippi.  They’ve lived separate lives by design and everyone seems to be okay with that.  Stanton Skypes with his daughter and maintains a great relationship with her.  Stanton indulges in relationships with other women, most notably Sofia Santos, his lawyer buddy with benefits.  The sexy kind of benefits, not the dental plan and 401k.  The chemistry and attraction between the two of them is palpable and undeniable.

Sofia is kind of a badass.  She’s smart and funny and she can totally hold her own.  She’s not a female character that you want to scream at due to convoluted self-esteem issues.  Her self-esteem is completely and securely intact and she really deals with a lot where Stanton is concerned.

Jenny gets engaged and Stanton completely loses his mind.  Did I mention that I wanted to shake him?  Repeatedly? He had it in his brain that he and Jenny belonged together when he and Sofia clearly had a more intense connection. Jenny was his past and she would always be a part of his life, but I really wanted Stanton to wake the eff up and look at what was right in front of him. Drew Evans did some stupid stuff, but even he may have smacked Stanton around a bit.

Ms. Chase goes all the way back to Jenny and Stanton as teenagers and when Jenny got pregnant and we get to witness Stanton as a daddy and my ovaries were screaming and giving him a standing ovation when he held that baby.

Overruled was chock full of Ms. Chase’s perfect mix of humor and romance.  I simply cannot wait for the next books in this series, as we were introduced to Jake Becker and Brent Mason in this book.  I’m already dreading starting and finishing those books.  😉

  • Review: Homefront by Jessica Scott

The truth was he was a better soldier than a husband or father, and he always had been.  Hell, there was a reason why he worked so hard.  He was good at the army.  It wasn’t a job to him.  It was who he was.  It was what he was good at. He knew how to lead soldiers, how to get their confidence up to be the first man in the stack.

As far as I’m concerned, Ms. Scott always manages to bring something different and interesting to the table.  Of the many books she has written where soldiers come back home, she has not tackled this particular subject so thoroughly as she does in Homefront.

Gale screwed up.  He knew he was screwing up when he was doing it but he really didn’t know what else to do.  The army was easy and leading his men was his calling.  Being a father and husband is a whole ‘nother ball game.  Gale and Mel were very young when they married, throw in a baby and being separated from each other and it just made for a very bad combination.

He hadn’t been a good enough man to hold on to her.  And when he was honest with himself, everything he’d done over the last decade and a half had been to make himself a better man.

Mel has her hands full with a teenage Jamie who has some pretty serious issues of her own on top of just being a teenager.  It’s a lot for two parents to handle, much less a single parent.  Mel is tired and barely holding it together.  Enter Gale.  He’s been wanting to get closer to Mel and Jamie for years, in an effort to be involved in their lives and just maybe heal the rift between he and Mel.  Gale TOTALLY loves Mel still. To her credit, she realizes that she may have made some hasty decisions due to her own immaturity.  Even though fifteen years have passed, their feelings for each other were very close to the surface, so close that they couldn’t keep their hands and lips off of each other!

She wasn’t sure where things were going but it was such a departure from the way things had been.  A good one. Gale the man not Gale the memory of the boy he’d been.  There was power in his hands now, confidence in his touch.  A smoothness in the way he stroked her body that left her breathless and shaking and wanting more.  So much more.

Gale dealing with a teenage girl was touching and downright hilarious at times.  It was like diffusing a bomb. Ha!  I loved the way Gale waded in and proceeded to mediate between Jamie and her mom.  Jamie really needed her Dad, she needed his love, affection and guidance.

This was a touching and raw depiction of second chance romance and I really enjoyed it.  I’m definitely looking forward to more from this series.

  • Review and Interview: Wild with You by Sara Jane Stone

    Only with You

Sara Jane Stone just keeps upping the ante with every book she writes in this series.  I say this because each book has been better than the previous one!

I figured that Brody’s book was going to be a doozy because he is the big brother and the caretaker.  He is always in charge and in control of himself and the situation.  Brody rarely has a chance to let loose. He has so much pressure and responsibility professionally and personally and he rarely takes time for himself.  Any time he has spent with women has been here and there on the down low. Kat comes along and pushes Brody’s personal control buttons and when he gets pushed past his own limits, it’s quite impressive.

He’d always held back, giving the women he’d dated what they wanted.  But he’d never taken.  He’d never issued commands.  In bed and out, he put the people he cared about first.  He shouldered other people’s problems- listening, caring, and fixing.

Translation: dude needs to get laid and take control in the bedroom.  Kat gets to live out a fantasy she has had since she was teenager and lusting after Brody in high school.  Little does he know, Kat is his brother’s doctor and he has no idea (at first) that they went to high school together.  Needless to say, Kat has grown up and left Independence Falls and has made quite a life herself.  Not only does she want to be desirable to Brody but she wants to show the people of Independence Falls that she is not the same foster child she used to be.  Of course, some impressions of people die hard in a small town and Kat has to deal with some of the snotty people from high school etc.

How will Brody and Kat get their HEA?  Kat works in New York and Brody has his family in Independence Falls? I think I enjoyed that aspect of books a great deal…how does the author bring them together without giving up so much of their own identities and purpose?

Being that this is the last book in the Independence Falls (sad face) it was nice to see previous couples’ HEAs get wrapped with nice little bows.  I always enjoy a well-written family oriented series and Ms. Stone created an engaging, funny and super steamy series surrounding the Summers’s friends family.

Now that the Independence Falls series is over, what are you working on now?

Wild With You is the last book in the Independence Falls series. But this wont be the last time you see these characters! Next month, Ill start working on a spin-off series about three soldiers who have one wild night before they deploy, and what happens when they return home. Fans of the Independence Falls series might recall Noah from the shooting range in HERO BY NIGHT. Hes the hero of the first book.

Right now, Im writing the second book in my new SIN CITY SEALS series. The first book, TO TEMPT A SEAL, will be published by Brazen (an imprint of Entangled) this summer.

Do you have a favorite Summers brother?

I love them all, but Chad, the hero in HERO BY NIGHT, was my favorite to write.

Where do you write? Is it a desk or do you write on your couch with a laptop?

Anywhere! I work on my laptop at a desk if I can. I write on planes, trains, and long hand while cooking dinner for my kids. I often stop while running and type out dialogue on my phone so that I don’t forget a scene that has popped into my head. With two preschool age kids at home, I try to make the most of my time.

Do you listen to music while you write? (If so what are some of your favorites?)

I prefer silence. But when the kids are around and I have a deadline looming, I’ll write with the Frozen soundtrack playing in the background.

What is your favorite snack to eat while you write?

Vegan dumplings, magic cookies, and soup. This is my go-to take out order from my favorite vegan restaurant.

Are you a plotter or a pantser?

Pantser. I start with a loose outline and then jot down notes in my phone or on a legal pad. My writing process often feels like pure chaos. And I love every minute of it!

  • Review: Loving Her Sniper Step Brother by Piper Anne

This is the second book by Ms. Anne that I’ve read and I enjoyed as much if not more than Her Father’s Best Friend.  I think it’s the sniper angle that got me.  What’s up with the stepbrother trope?  It’s everywhere!  If you look through the lists on Amazon they are allll over the place… and doing well. This is the only stepsibling romance that I’ve read and it didn’t feel icky to me at all.  Their parents met and married and Aryn and Ben forged a friendship in comfort.  Their home life was not very happy and they found solace, affection and soon love in each other.  They truly cared for each other.  Years and circumstances separated them and now they are thrown together again and their feelings are still very strong.

I enjoyed the chemistry between Aryn and Ben and I enjoyed the action of the story.  As for the passion?  Uh yeah, it’s alllll there, people. 😉

She was completely trapped by his body yet not a single fiber of her resisted.  It was deliciously comforting to be surrounded by him this way, his legs around hers, his hips pressing into her middle, his hands in her hair.  In this moment, Aryn was protected, encased in strength by the only man she’d ever love, even if she denied it to her dying breath.

This is another quickie read and I’d love to read more about Ben and Aryn. I guess that’s a sign of a good story right?  Wanting more.
